Update History
/Wednesday, 11th February 2004 (Nat's 2nd birthday!)
Our first update of 2004, so what's new. Well, for the first time we snuck in a mini unannounced update over Christmas which replaced our counter (now provided by Freelogs) which you have to admit looks a lot flashier than our previous counters. The only downside is we are obliged to carry a link for Pacific Sunwear (quality sunwear and bathing gear at affordable prices, folks) 'cos we all have to sell out at some point.
We have also set up a 2004 gallery with the advent of the New Year, so far with only two pictures in it, and there are four new "Interesting Facts" (making a total of 20). We've also added an "On This Day..." feature (see left) and a brand new goldfish that's not quite as flimsy as their real life counterparts (check out the link below).
Friday, 18th February 2004 (Mini update - Stop press)
Buns has died! We found him in his cage on the morning of Tuesday 17th February. We think he had a stroke sometime Monday evening because he was struggling to move himself around his cage late on Monday night. He has been buried in the back garden next to Nat's sandpit.

This is our second update of 2004 so what's new? A couple of small changes - 3 new photographs (including birthday and Easter) and the "Credits" page has had a bit of a java makeover. We had to sneak in (yet another) unannounced update to serve as a notice of the untimely demise of the bunny (RIP), and change Nat's page slightly in order to remove any references to Buns. Following that, we have no pets at the moment with no decisions as to whether to get another one. Watch this space...

There is quite a bit of new stuff for this third update of 2004, although most of the changes will not be immediately obvious. The first big change is the move from Virgin's servers to those at ntl. This comes with our move to broadband and hence a change of Internet Service Provider. Obviously the address for our home page and our e-mail is unchanged. In addition to this we have had to change the settings for our clock because for some reason the clock on the Virgin servers was about three days fast! We couldn't find the ntl server's clock so we've used ... your clock!!!! If you double click on the clock at the bottom right hand corner of your screen your time settings will appear, and this will be exactly the time that DJClock (above) will use. So, if the clock above is wrong, don't blame us - sort your own clock out! In addition to that, the Interesting Facts page now has over 30 facts, and we have further down the page a "Fact of the Day" which will change every day supplied by the nice people at www.didyouknow.cd . In addition to that there have been three new photos added. Phew...!

Hello. Well, it's been some time since our last update (70 days - has it really been that long) and only our fourth update of 2004 - yes, we are truly ashamed. Anyway, since then we've been on holiday to Alcudia, Majorca and had a fab time and came back fully inspired. So, we have seven (count 'em!) new photos in Nat's gallery - 6 holiday photos and one of our day out at Chester Zoo in July. There are also two new options below. We have included a links page, which seems to be the fashionable thing to do right now, and an Update History page just so we can see when we updated and what was happening at that time - just for fun. Unfortunately I have not kept copies of our earliest updates from 2002 when dom-and-lis.co.uk first went on-line - so the history starts from our first update of 2004. Shame! We have also included an aerial photograph of our house courtesy of getmapping.com - see further down this page for that.

Hello. Well, it's only been a monster 94 days since the last update - but we have been really busy. There has been the shop to sort out and get up and running and my responsibility has been to get the Bumble Bees website up and running (click here to visit it if you haven't already). www.bumblebeesflorist.co.uk is still really really under construction and it will be a while before it is finished, but we'll still add photos of new products and stuff over time, Hopefully, I'll get a fairly large update done before the new year (yeah, right - watch this space...!). Anyway, for this site the update comprises of four pictures and an added link (and correction) to the links page and of course updating the history page. Other news at this end - we have acquired a new pet in the shape of two small turtles that answer to the names Vivienne and Frank (don't ask - it wasn't my choice...) but hopefully the next update will see a return to the Pets Corner with a couple of photos of Vivienne and Frank. This update now takes our site size to just over 3 Mb - but with ntl: we have a 50 Mb limit, so who cares?

Hello. Alright, everybody, guilty feelings, guilty feeling 'cos it's been nearly six months since the last update - and that long that I'm not even going to work it out in days as I'm so ashamed. Bad news over in pets corner as Vivienne and Frank have both passed away - Vivienne had been a bit dodgy from being bought and Frank went downhill pretty rapidly shortly after she died, so we're not quite sure exactly what happened. At the moment we've got around a hundred tadpoles that should only be a few weeks off sprouting legs and turning into tiny frogs - but we have around a hundred (or more) of those, so no, they don't have names. Once they're little frogs they'll be set free from where we originally collected the frog spawn from (a little stream near Strines Reservoir, fact fans). Anyway, apologies for the abysmal update (only 3 pictures in a new 2005 gallery) but I'll try to make up for it. Just been a bit busy with the Bumble Bees website - so if you've not visited, here it is : www.bumblebeesflorist.co.uk.
Tuesday, 28th February 2006
OK, it's been around eight months since our last proper update, the longest time between updates ever I think, but we've had quite a bit to do to bring this up to date. We have added some 2005 photos that we've not had time to sort through (holiday pics and stuff), and a couple of 2006 pictures - along with a new 2006 gallery page and all the associated links and stuff that go with it. We've still got a few more 2006 photos to sort through - we had snow last week so there are a few sledging pics, and a trip to Knowsley Safari Park over the weekend, so a couple of those shots might make it into the pages as well. Unfortunately, Nat went a bit bonkers with the camera taking hundreds of photos, so we'll have to go though and pull out all the lousy shots first. There's also some shots of Nat's 4th birthday party at Raskals, so plenty to keep us busy. Still been busy with the Bumble Bees website - so if you've not visited, here's another chance: www.bumblebeesflorist.co.uk. And finally, pet's corner is back in business. We have two new turtles (Joel and Jack) who so far are eating like it's going out of fashion and are in much ruder health than Vivienne and Frank ever were and two goldfish (Laura and Daniel). Pictures of those in the next update. Soon(ish)!

It's only May and our second update of 2006. So far we've got a few new pictures added (a couple of snow pictures and Nat with his Hummer), and also added a new game - Red Square. It's the first game on the site not written and compiled using Java, but done completely in HTML, and it's pretty addictive. This is one of those files that floats round as an e-mail attachment from time time. I received it as an e-mail a couple of years ago and forgot all about it, and then got it in my in-tray a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, the bottom line is, I can't credit the original author, who is at this moment in time, unknown. We've also got a couple of turtle pics (a Florida yellow bellied and a Florida red bellied turtle fact fans) here and here. Not quite sure where these will go in the next update, but there you go. Also, not got around to taking any pictures of Laura and Daniel (the goldfish, for the uninitiated), so that's something else for next time.

OK, the third update for 2006 (doing well this year) follows our holiday to Fuerteventura in July, and I probably won't get chance to do another one before we go to Lapland in December (busy busy busy) so I've decided to cram in what I can with photos - this site now has 93 photos (and contains exactly 300 files). Mainly holiday photos, but we did have a visit to Chester Zoo last week, and we just have to have a photo of him sat on the bronze elephant - it's the only reason we go now, to keep up the collection of bronze elephant photos! Nat also started "proper" school this week, so there's the obligatory first-day-at-school photos as well. We've also got new pets in the shape of two baby dwarf hamsters (Violet and Dash) in addition to the turtles and fish (who are all in fine health at the moment). Bit tricky to get decent photos of the hamsters as when they're asleep they're curled into a tiny ball, and when they're awake they don't stop still long enough... I'm also going to get some photos of the turtles in their new fancy 60 litre tank.
